Thankfully, we’re now in May which means lighter evenings and warmer weather. If you have a garden, then it’s time to get weeding, arrange your garden furniture, clean the BBQ and invite your friends and family around for some drinks and food. Outdoor living is all about embracing the warmth and beauty of summer and enjoying the fresh air. If, like us, you have a south-facing garden, then a little bit of shade is sometimes welcome and necessary. If you need a new garden umbrella or have never had one in the past, then this month’s competition is for you!
We have joined forces with the Haacht Brewery to offer our customers the chance of winning a Super 8 branded garden umbrella and stand. Just to be clear, this is big, measuring 2×2 metres squared! The umbrella is made from black polyester and can be easily put up or down and stored away. It also comes with a solid base and would look great in any outdoor space. We only have one to give away and the winner will be announced on 1st June via our social media channels and emailed directly. Interested? So how do you enter?
Simply, purchase any bottle of beer brewed by the Haacht Brewery during the month of May. You will then be automatically entered into the competition. We will then pick a customer at random. Only customers living in a UK mainland postcode can enter, unfortunately due to the delivery. Prize is non-transferable and there will be no cash alternative offered. The umbrella and stand will be delivered for free.
If you’re not familiar with the Haacht Brewery and their beer range, then carry on reading… Haacht is one of Belgium’s biggest independent breweries and dates back to 1898. It is situated in the Flemish province, near to the town of Haacht, hence the name. The brewery was founded by Eugene de Ro and even to this day, it’s still owned by the De Ro family. The brewery is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility and over the years they have implemented various initiatives to reduce their environmental impact. This along with producing quality beers and their long history makes them a well-respected player within Belgium’s beer industry.
Now to the important part – their beers…
PRIMUS – their flagship pilsner, it is light and refreshing, pours clear and has a fine head. It is best served at three degrees Celsius and has won various beer awards. It’s a perfect beer to drink in the warmer weather.
TONGERLO – there’s four different varieties; Blond, Bruin, Tripel and Christmas. These are classed as Belgian Abbey beers and are inspired by the brewing traditions of the Tongerlo Abbey.
CHARLES QUINT – available in Ruby Red and Golden Blond. Both have an ABV of 8.5% and both have won various beer awards.
OMMEGANG TRIPEL – a strong, blond Belgian beer, that has a dry character and citrus taste, due to three Belgian hops being added. Refermentation occurs in the bottle so expect some sediment. It is best served around seven degrees Celsius. It has also won numerous beer awards.
SUPER 8 – varied range of Belgian beers; Export, Flandrien, IPA, Cherry, Rouge and Blanche.
All Belgian beers are available by the bottle via our website, which is perfect if you want to organise a beer tasting evening. We also sell a range of mixed beer cases and have a number of Haacht ones currently available at a discounted price. These tend to come with a free beer glass so again are perfect for beer tasting events or even beer gifts. A popular mixed case at present is the Haacht Beer Tasting Kit, which has a saving of 35%
